Saturday, June 28th, 2008Indians Lose Again. Wedge Says We Have To Tough It Out
Wednesday, June 25th, 2008Shelton’s job is safe. Jorge Velandia is playing to give us added punch. The faces of the players say “quit” all over them. Body language is like a Zoloft patient.
But Eric Wedge wants everybody to tough it out. “It’s all we can do”.
No, Eric…it’s all YOU can do. We can stop buying tickets. We can not watch it. We can make fun of it. We can ask questions. We can demand your resignation. We can write about bad managerial decisions. That’s where Mr Moohead comes in.
My job is to continue to point out the limitations of the manager of this team. Granted, his team is injury riddled. But he’s dead even with Kansas City with the best starting pitching in the division. Something isn’t adding up. Average hitters are hitting way below their level. So poorly, that it has nullified our pitching.
I still believe that a manager’s job is to maximize player potential. It hasn’t happened in 3 out of 4 years. We can’t overcome injuries when the remaining guys underachieve.
And we can’t overcome a managerial team that believes Jorge Velandia is more deserving than Asdrubal Cabrera to play in the bigs.
