Sorry MOO….No QUINN this weekend…according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer
One final home game, against 5-10 San Francisco. The Browns’ playoff implications are practically nil. The only thing that affects their playoff berth is Tennessee’s outcome against Indianapolis later that night.
Sounds like an opportunity to get rookie Brady Quinn some regular-season game experience, no?
The Browns don’t see it that way.
Barring injury, Quinn won’t get into Sunday’s game, one team source said, unless the Browns have “a 40- or 50-point lead in the fourth quarter.”
And the way the Browns play, that’s not going to happen.
Their average margin of victory is 7.4 points. On the occasions they’ve held a decent lead in the fourth quarter, they have chosen not to insert Quinn for experience.
They had fourth-quarter leads at home of 51-38 against Cincinnati, 27-6 against Baltimore, 41-24 against Miami and 27-10 against Houston. Coach Romeo Crennel kept starter Derek Anderson in every time.
Crennel is nothing if not consistent. That’s why nobody expects him to change his habits now.
“I can’t see him doing that this late in the season and cause any controversy or anything like that [with] how we’ve played all year,” receiver Braylon Edwards said. “There have been some chances for Quinn to get in, if that were going to be the case. He didn’t take them then. I don’t see him taking them now.”
Center Hank Fraley said: “Derek’s been our quarterback all year and I don’t see why you would switch. He’s been playing well.

Posted on December 27th, 2007 at 3:31 pmAnd that’s what being a part of a 9 win season gets you. Total Abject horror and misinterpretation of facts. (6 PICKS, AGAIN?)
Don’t look now Tony, I think the Sky is falling.
By the way, even after missing the 1st game of the season: Anderson, improbably, has thrown for 28 touchdowns — good enough for fifth in the NFL and two touchdowns better than Brett Favre.
I know we really can’t compare the 2 QB’s…..but a little positive attitude might help the team through this weekend…..
But since you’ve already decided that Anderson will throw 6 Picks…and Tennessee is going to beat the INDY 2nd string….why even bother playing the game?
Maybe we should all just turn the GAME OFF….and watch ICE FISHING instead.

Posted on December 27th, 2007 at 4:16 pmRomeo does nothing spontaneously. We new he would go with status quo. No way he messes with Anderson’s psyche. I still would play Quinn extensively if I were Romeo.

Posted on December 27th, 2007 at 5:40 pmHey Tony,
If I refuse to KISS THE HOOF of the “Master Race Cow”…..then why do you think I’d ever consider kissing yours? Forgive me for wanting the information to come from somebody more credible than a Pasturehead that creates a DEREK ANDERSON 6 Interception game.
Frankly your wanting another guy to have his lips somewhere on your body is a little disturbing. I think it’s time both you and Mr. Moo sought out some counseling.
