Great impersonation as always. You have to hear the way Heinsohn yells, “Big Baby!” whenever Davis touches the ball. It’s hilarious. “Biiig Baaaaaaaaby! Biiiiiiig Baaaaaaaby! He’s not a baaaaaaaaby! That’s a Tommy point! Give him twoooo Tommy points! Big Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaby!” And that’s just if Davis secures a rebound. When Davis does something legitimately good, the Tommy-meter goes off the charts. Downright orgasmic.

I think you’re right that Heinsohn may be catching on in years. He’s actually been giving the occasional Tommy point to players on the opposite team. He gave one to Charlotte’s Jared Dudley and another to New Jersey’s Sean Williams. He came close to giving one to Sasha Pavlovic. Shockingly, he complimented the referees in last night’s game, saying that they accomplished the rare feat of a well-officiated game.

I heard you bring up Al Jefferson. Did you know that he’s putting up numbers that are almost identical to Kevin Garnett? I still take Garnett because of his vastly superior passing and defensive game, but Jefferson is giving at least some Celtics fans pause:

    Al Jefferson: 19.8 PPG, 11 RPG, 1.3 APG, 1.1 BPG, +23.17 EFF
    Kevin Garnett: 20.8 PPG, 12.1 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.6 BPG, +30.85 EFF

I think he’s suffering from “Harry Caray” syndrome. Harry was a legend when he was coherent, but he never knew when to fade away gracefully. Sad, when that happens…

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article my Heinsohn Wednesday Commentary | Moohead Radio, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
