And You Thought the Indians Have a Bullpen???? What a Cow Would Do To Cliff Lee.
Wedge keeps bringing them up. And they keep giving up runs. As the trade deadline nears, fuck Kenny Lofton. The Cleveland Indians need ONE dependable middle relief pitcher. The current batch look like Jason Davis with arm trouble. Who throws Manny Ramirez 5 consecutive fastballs? Some AAA asshole who’s been told to, I guess. They’re still looking for that ball.
We score 4, then another bullpen ace gives up 3. What a list we have. Tom Mastny (I can’t get it over, Coach). Jensen “no mechanics” Lewis. These guys are like lighter fluid.
As for Cliff Lee? Ship him out. Not because he sucks. Because he’s an asshole. He’s the AJ Pierczinki of the Tribe. Waving his hat to the fans as they bood him. WTF??? No wonder Victor was ready to impale this guy. Lee is moody and petulant. He is blown away mentally. He’s a shitty team mate. He’s also got his multi million dollar deal. He needs to stay in a Buffalo Motel 6 for awhile. With a few hairy truckers.
Another loss. Thank God Tigers, Yankees and Mariners all lost. Wedge is now 5-6 since his “deal”

As a Boston fan, I’m obviously glad that the Red Sox took 3 out of 4 in Cleveland. What I’m not glad about is the increasing possibility of the Yankees overtaking the Indians for the wild card.
Jake Westbrook and Cliff Lee give the Indians nothing, and Paul Byrd isn’t much better. You desperately need another reliable starting pitcher. If you can find even a No. 4 caliber starter, you’ll be in excellent shape because of Sabathia and Carmona. The Indians are only a player or two away from being legitimate World Series contenders. The question is whether Dolan and Shapiro are prepared to add those missing pieces.
Even if your team goes into the playoffs as currently constituted, I think you’ve got an excellent shot of winning it all. Any time you have a 1-2 punch as good as Sabathia and Carmona (arguably the best 1-2 combination in all of baseball right now), you’re going to win a lot of playoff games. In post-season baseball, teams score fewer runs and quality pitching takes over. You only need 2 great pitchers, able to pitch on three days rest, in order to win a playoff series.
Thus, the way I see it, the bigger obstacle for Cleveland right now is maintaining its current position in the standings. Once in the post-season, with the shorter pitching rotations, advantage Indians.
